Exhibit: Be Heard Latinos - Indiana Historical Society

Enrique and I couldn't be more excited to be a part of the "Be Heard - Latino" exhibit at the Indiana Historical Society. Nicole Martinez-LeGrand has herself made history in the making of this incredible exhibit that captures more than 100 years of Latino history in Indiana. Our oral recording will become a part of that exhibit in the archives forever.

While we're excited to be included, my heart is broken as it's not a favorable time in our nation's history in regards to our treatment of Latinos. You may recall our July 15, "What About Us? Peaceful Resistance Rally for Immigration Reform" that we hosted in the heart of Irvington. Enrique Gonzalez and I have been public with our challenges as we face deportation and are awaiting our day in immigration court.

We continue to press our nation's leaders for human-centered immigration reform. Even our nation's darkest hours must be captured. We hope you will visit the exhibit at the Indiana Historical Society which runs from now until November 3rd.

To our Irvington neighbor Nicole - Thank you so very much for your kindness, generosity, interest, and passion for capturing the history of Latinos living this day in Indiana. And, thanks for shining such an incredible light on the Latinos in Indiana's history of more than 100 years. Our family couldn't thank you enough for inviting us to be a part of this important work!
